   So on Tuesday morning (Nigerian time), U.S presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton took to the stage to have the first presidential debate ahead of the November 2016 elections. Donald Trump did well in the first 20 minutes while Hillary had the upper hand during the closing stages of the debate. A lot of political analysts believe Hillary defeated Trump overall during the debate with the way she tackled some important issues looking more prepared and assured during the debate.   MMM Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwean section of ponzi scheme making the rounds in Nigeria has crashed. According to Pulse, MMM in Zimbabwe a few weeks ago stopped withdrawals, causing its collapse. Thousands of people, among them civil servants, vendors and more, reportedly lost thousands of dollars (which translates to billions, trillions of the local currency) to the fraudulent online pyramid scheme. This is despite the warning the country’s government against investing in the scheme.      The same situation obtains in Nigeria. Some are adamant that the scheme is legit despite warning from government to desist from it. MMM South Africa had also in May 2016, with the company saying that it was a media panic and said it was ‘starting over’. In January 2016, the Chinese government banned MMM because it is a Ponzi scheme.

John Tsoho, the judge handling Nnamdi Kanu’s trial, has returned the case file to Ibrahim Auta, chief justice of federal high court, for reassignment. This was sequel to an application by the legal team of Kanu led by Chuks Muoma, claiming that the court was biased in its handling of the matter. “We are only asking the court to hands off; my client has lost confidence in this court,” he said. He claimed that the court was acting in line with the suggestion of President Muhammadu Buhari that Kanu was not going to be released under any circumstance. The counsel said that if they did not get the relief they sought, they would proceed to the International Court of Justice. President Muhammadu Buhari seems to have settled for the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, as his running mate come 2019, the Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu has confirmed. Momodu, made the shocking revelation on Saturday, August 20, in his article titled: ‘’PDP And Tinubu, the Road to 2019” published in Thisday Newspaper. Recall, that Momodu had prior to the 2015 General Election, had in a similar article, predicted that Buhari would roundly defeat the then President Goodluck Jonathan.          The lawyers representing the detained leader of the indigenous people of Biafra were yesterday’s night interviewed on 99.5 Wazobia Fm Abuja over the continued detention of their client, Nnamdi Kanu despite an order from a competent court of jurisdiction that he be released unconditionally.     Speaking in the interview, the IPOB lawyers revealed they would be coming to court on September 26th with other 52 senior lawyers to fully represent Kanu.    The legal representatives also promised to hold the federal republic of Nigeria accountable should anything happen to their client, Kanu who according to them is being ‘illegally’ detained.

  SAHARA REPORTERS: Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari today foreclosed any chance for a referendum as a path to bring healing and closure to the vexing issue of Biafra. He made the statement during a media event in New York City at the end of his visit to the United States as the leader of Nigeria's delegation to the 71th United Nations' General Assembly.  The president stated that the choice left for Biafran activists is to form a political party that would advance their interest within the Nigerian democratic space. The governments of the United Kingdom and the United States have pledged to commit for more funds to support victims of Boko Haram in Lake Chad Basin, NAN reports. The development follows President Muhammadu Buhari 's pleas to the international community for more assistance in helping victims of the terror group. The UK pledged additional 80 million pounds, while the U.S pledged 41 million dollars. The pledge was made at the high level side event on humanitarian crisis in the Lake Chad Basin, at the 71st UN General Assembly in New York .
